This is going to be our "save the date" postcard for our upcoming wedding. It was inspired by Alphonse Mucha and a Lladro figurine.
In the circle, replacing the three rings at the top, will be the words "save the date." Our names and the date will go in the scroll-y thing.
Right now I'm kinda stuck as to what to do with the background. I'm not sure whether to paint a real background, or just fill each section with some design work. Or do a little of both.
Disenchanted! You disappeared! it's good to see something new from you – and you did a beautiful work, with very well chosen colors! Consider it faved!
hm... for the background.. i really think it would look nice if you put some kind of design in the various empty shapes you have throughout the picture (kind of like stained glass windows)... but make them... transparent or see through (jus the frame) ... not completely colored in.. it would be nice to see liek a cloud/dreamy background... as like the 'main' background (all of the blue stuff u've got)
now... what's behind this 'glass' is completely up to u... i suggest a cloudy/dreamy thing..
but a fairytale scene could work too.. (i think)
i hope that helped/made sense - looking forward to being this completed...
and congradulations on your wedding
I think it works as it is. it's very simple and straightforward. Adding too many background elements would just make it busy. I suppose adding some scrollwork to the empty spaces might add some style, but I like it like it is.

for the background, i believe you should put a picture of your gorgeous, beautiful, sweet, talented, lovable sister. it'd complete the piece for sure.
